Spring Time Art – Ms. Hansberry’s 5th Class.

The boys and girls in Ms. Hansberry’s 5th class were busy this week creating a spring time scene.

First we brushed an a3 page with water. We did this so it would be easy to blend the colours.

Next, we painted the background using water colours. When the entire background was painted, we left the paintings aside to dry.

While the paintings were drying we watered down black paint so it had a more ink like consistency.  Using an eye dropper, we added a small dab of paint to the paper and then gently blew it with a straw to create the tree and all the branches.    We tried it on a practice paper just to get the technique down. We loved this part!!!

Once we were confident with the technique we moved onto creating the cheery blossom tree on our paintings.

Our final step was finger painting. We used our fingers to create the flowers.
