Sam Maguire visits Scoil Chormaic CNS!

Scoil Chormaic CNS had a visit from a very special guest to our school on the 27th of February.

James Doran and Anthony Holly with the Sam Maguire Cup

We were very lucky to have Dublin Senior Footballer James Doran and Anthony Holly from O Dwyer’s GAA visited with the Sam Maguire cup. All the children and staff gathered in the school hall with huge excitement.

Mr Mc Elliogott took to the microphone to welcome our guests, and there was a huge round of applause and cheers.

James talked to the children about when he started playing Gaelic football when he was four years old. He spoke about how much he practiced to improve his skills and how hard he worked to get on the Dublin team.

The children had a lot of interesting questions to ask James, and some children even got to hold the cup! James and Anthony were so impressed with the children’s enthusiasm for sport, that they asked for the whole school to have the night off homework!

At the end of the visit, James took time to pose for photos with each class level.
Here are some photos from the visit.
