We’ve had an exciting and busy 2nd term in 2nd class! From World Book Day, to Food Dudes, to the Active Youth Challenge- we’ve learned a lot!
In Maths, we looked at the topic of time. In these pictures, you can see that we made our own analogue clocks using a hula-hoop and post-its. We converted digital times and showed them on our homemade clocks. It was a fun activity that involved lots of teamwork!
This term, we created some beautiful artwork- including papier mache bugs, Kandinsky inspired circles and Carmen Miranda inspired fruit.
During Seachtain na Gaeilge, we had lots of fun using “Frása an Lae” and preparing Micilín Muc to perform at assembly. Rinnemar Mata trí Ghaeilge. Bhíomar ag foghlaim faoi agus ag úsáid airgead. Bhain an rang taitneamh as! (We even managed to do some Maths as Gaeilge).
Bricks4Kids paid our class a visit just before the Easter holidays. We completed a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) workshop and made Windmills that worked! It took a lot of concentration and we needed to follow the instructions very carefully.
We’ve been taking part in the Active Youth Challenge. Every Friday, Gerard takes our class for PE and we play LOTS of games- especially games that we have to work as a team! It’s been a fantastic experience! For the Active Youth Challenge, we also complete brain breaks in the class- by dancing, moving and stretching!
We hope that our final term of 2nd class is as exciting!
