We did two Maths trails. The first one was to take photos of objects around the school under a theme: pattern, the number 2, cuboid, sphere, triangle, something red, something green etc.
For the second Maths trail, we answered a booklet of questions about different things around the classroom and school: The length and width of the classroom in steps, the distance from the classroom to the office in steps, where we could find a rectangle, square, circle, oval, cube, cone, what time is it 15 minutes before and after our break times etc. It was a great way to get active, have fun and develop our mathematical thinking.
In PE, we played a game called Beanbag Scavenger Hunt. We got into two teams. Each team had to lie on either side of the hall. When Ms Forde blew the whistle, we had to collect a certain amount of beanbags at the other end of the hall, and run back to base. The winning team were the team that had the exact amount of beanbags needed. It required good communication and problem solving skills.
