Day 2 of Feel-Good/Well-Being Week 23/10/18

Day 2 of our feel good week went fantastic today! The students were both very busy together all day which led to some very successful and positive lessons!


The started with another mindfulness session at 10am, as two 6th class students spoke again about looking after yourself and they told the school that we are using the app, Headspace for our mindfulness sessions. It teaches both the students and teachers to help notice how their physical body is feeling and connect that to their emotions and many of our community of already stated how beneficial they have found the down time!

All the classes then wrote “Words that make us smile” on PostIts given to each teacher. Each child and adult got one to write a compliment on for themselves, someone in the school or the school itself. All the PostIts were then  stuck on the glass on the first floor running by the PE Hall. It truly looks amazing and is very inspiring for any person who gets a chance to read them including messages such as:

“You can make harmony……You are very, very intelligent…. I love going to this school…. You are nice and pretty.”


Our large activity today was an idea presented by 6th class, in which students from 5th and 6th, formed small groups and then prepared a lesson with their class teacher. Each group of students taught this lesson to a designated class from Junior Infants up to 4th Class. It worked amazing from both sides, as the younger children learned from their peers, and the older children were given the chance to experience the joy in teaching others.
