This week was Book Week and we took part in lots of fun activities to celebrate. We had DEAR time (Drop Everything and Read) every day for 10 minutes and we talked and wrote about our favourite authors on Monday – there were lots to choose from!
We received vouchers for free books which we happily cashed in on Tuesday in Easons. We enjoyed a nice stroll to Easons where we took turns choosing and buying our books. Ms. St. John read a lovely book for us in the children’s corner while we were there. We then walked back to the school again in the best line Ms. Fitzpatrick has ever seen! Here we are with our lovely new books:
On Wednesday 5th class visited our classroom for paired reading, which we really enjoyed. We hope they come to visit us again very soon!
On Thursday we had Dress-Up Day. We got to come to school dressed in our PJ’s or as our favourite book character. It was so much fun! Don’t we look super in our costumes?
To end our book week activities, Ms Corcoran came to visit our classroom on Thursday evening to read us a story. She read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to us because Roald Dahl is one of our favourite authors. It was a lovely treat!
