Active Week 2019

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

Active Week will take place at Scoil Chormaic CNS from Monday 17th – 21st June 2019. Each class will participate in various activities throughout the week including: Sports Days, Wake and Shake, Tennis, Gymnastics, Taekwondo, Yoga, Bouncy castles, Obstacle courses, to name a few. Active week will conclude with a sports assembly for all our Active Week participants on Friday 21st June.

As per previous years, classes from 1st to 6th class will walk with their teachers to O’Dwyer’s GAA club for their sports day (running, potato and spoon, 3-legged, wheelbarrow, etc.) and activity stations. This year, Junior and Senior infants will have their sports day on the grass pitch in Bremore Educate Together Secondary School (The school next door to us). Parents are invited to watch their child’s class races/activities and enter the parents/guardians race, if they wish! See the timetable below. Please note, race times are reliant on good weather and are subject to change. *Children will be participating in other activity stations on their given day when not involved in the races.

 

‘Wake and Shake’ is a dance and movement activity. Parent(s)/guardian(s) are invited to accompany their child(ren) to watch, or join in, if they wish! The activity begins at 8.45am in the school hall from Monday to Thursday so please enter via the main doors of the hall just before, or send your child(ren) there if you are unable to stay yourself. Please line up in the yard as normal if your children are not attending ‘Wake and Shake’.

The 4th, 5th and 6th classes are also participating in a Gaelic football blitz in O’Dwyer’s  on Thursday 20th June from 9.30 – 12.15. Parents are welcome to come and support.

`- Children should wear sports attire for the week. This can include the school tracksuit/shorts or other sports attire

    in the school colours of blue, navy and white.

– Children should not wear any jewellery and long hair should be tied back.

– Children should wear sunscreen and pack an extra drink each morning.

– Can all children please bring in €2 on Monday 17th June as a contribution towards all of the activities that we have planned for during Active Week. Thank you!
